In a few days, I’ll be traveling to Europe to check out the various Christmas markets and maybe even visit a chocolate factory or two. When my friends suggested that this could be the beginning of my own Hallmark movie (aka something I know far too much about), I had a few ideas for what that might look like. And because I’m a hack, I had ChatGPT work with me to write out this Hallmark-style Christmas movie in which I have a romance with a very familiar-looking figure.
Note: I set the parameters for this story but have not edited it beyond changing a few names, because I want to preserve the purity of ChatGPT’s lunacy. If you want to know what changes I would make to improve this story, drop a comment below and I’ll leave a few script-doctor notes. Also, the following is not in any way an endorsement of Lindt Chocolate, which I personally refuse to buy because of their troubled history with harvesting cocoa beans.
*Mrs. Claus by Christmas*
**Act 1: The Lindt Chocolate Factory Encounter**
– *Introduction to Happy Hagfish*: Happy Hagfish is a successful travel blogger, though her subscriber base is small—only seven devoted followers. She’s traveling through Europe, documenting the best Christmas experiences for her blog. While visiting the Lindt Chocolate factory in Switzerland, she takes a tour to learn about how chocolate is made.
– *Introduction to Nick*: Nick, feeling disillusioned with Christmas, is also at the chocolate factory, trying to escape the responsibilities of being Santa’s son. During the tour, he makes brief, charged eye contact with Happy Hagfish, though neither approaches the other.
– *The Spark*: Both feel an instant connection, but they don’t speak. As Happy Hagfish moves on with the tour, she wonders who the mysterious man is, while Nick has a strange sense that their paths will cross again.
**Act 2: The First Christmas Market**
– *Reunion at the Market*: A few days later, Happy Hagfish arrives at the Christmas market in Germany. She’s vlogging her experience when she sees Nick again. They recognize each other from the chocolate factory and strike up a conversation. However, Happy Hagfish notices Nick’s cryptic behavior and overhears him on the phone talking about “family obligations” and “business,” making her suspicious.
– *The Dog Incident*: As they chat, Nick’s dog Jingles appears, and Happy Hagfish notices something odd about the dog (perhaps a brief flicker of magic, though she dismisses it). The chemistry is undeniable, but when Happy Hagfish’s suspicions about Nick’s ties to the mafia arise, she makes an excuse to leave.
**Act 3: The Second Market & Growing Suspicion**
– *Another Chance Meeting*: Happy Hagfish moves on to the next Christmas market in Austria. While enjoying the festive atmosphere, she once again runs into Nick. This time, they spend more time together—Nick helps her shop for unique Christmas ornaments, and they share a warm drink in a cozy market café.
– *The Misunderstanding Grows*: Despite the growing attraction, Happy Hagfish overhears another conversation where Nick refers to “taking over by Christmas” and “the family business,” further solidifying her belief that he’s in the mafia. Though she tries to act normal, she becomes increasingly nervous around him, even though part of her wants to trust him.
**Act 4: The Magical Moment**
– *Magical Glimpses*: In the next market, something magical happens—Hapy Hagfish sees a fleeting moment where Nick and Jingles are surrounded by a brief sparkle of Christmas magic. Nick brushes it off, but Happy Hagfish can’t shake the feeling that something very unusual is going on. At this point, her mafia suspicions are stronger, yet she is also inexplicably drawn to Nick’s charm.
– *Nick’s Internal Conflict*: Meanwhile, Nick is struggling. He knows he has to reveal the truth about his identity soon, but he’s not sure if Happy Hagfish will accept it. He has a deadline—Christmas Eve—by which he needs to find someone to marry if he’s going to take over for his father as Santa Claus.
**Act 5: The Breaking Point**
– *Alexandra Confronts Nick*: At the next Christmas market in France, Happy Hagfish finally confronts Nick, asking him point-blank if he’s in the mafia. Nick is caught off guard but doesn’t reveal the truth, trying to protect the magical secret for a little longer. The tension between them builds, as Happy Hagfish wants to walk away but still feels an undeniable connection to him.
– *The Reveal Begins*: As Christmas approaches, Nick’s father (Santa) reaches out to him, telling him it’s time to stop hiding. Nick realizes he can’t keep the truth from Happy Hagfish any longer.
**Act 6: The Christmas Reveal**
– *The Magical Reveal*: On the final stop of Happy Hagfish’s Christmas tour, in Prague, Nick finally tells her the truth. He magically transforms Jingles into a flying reindeer in front of her, explaining that he’s the son of Santa Claus. Happy Hagfish is floored—she can’t believe it. He asks her to marry him by Christmas Eve so they can fulfill his family’s legacy together. But Happy Hagfish is hesitant.
– *Happy Hagfish’s Dilemma*: realizes she’s fallen for Nick, but she’s not sure she’s ready for such a huge change. She loves her life, even if her blog only has seven subscribers, and isn’t sure she can give up her independence to become Mrs. Claus and live at the North Pole.
**Act 7: Happy Hagfish’s Internal Conflict**
– *The Push and Pull*: Happy Hagfish grapples with her decision. She reaches out to her seven loyal subscribers, writing a heartfelt blog post about her experiences at the Christmas markets and subtly referencing her dilemma without revealing the full truth. Her subscribers encourage her to take the leap and follow her heart.
– *Nick Prepares for Christmas*: Meanwhile, Nick prepares to return to the North Pole to help with the Christmas preparations, unsure if Happy Hagfish will join him. He’s heartbroken but respects her decision to choose her own path.
**Act 8: The Grand Gesture**
– *Happy Hagfish’s Realization*: After receiving encouragement from her subscribers and reflecting on her adventures with Nick, Happy Hagfish realizes that a life with him could be the adventure she’s been looking for all along. She doesn’t need to give up her career—she could use her blog to share the magic of Christmas with the world in a new, modern way.
– *The Romantic Gesture*: On Christmas Eve, Nick returns to Prague for one final chance to win her heart. He creates a breathtaking scene with Christmas magic—snowfall, twinkling lights, and a magical sleigh ride. He tells Happy Hagfish that she doesn’t need to give up her passions; they can create something new together, blending her modern perspective with the timeless magic of Christmas.
**Act 9: The Christmas Wedding**
– *The Wedding*: Touched by Nick’s gesture and realizing that her life could be even more fulfilling with him by her side, Happy Hagfish agrees to marry him. They have a magical wedding in the North Pole, with elves and reindeer in attendance. Santa himself officiates the ceremony, and Happy Hagish’s seven subscribers are invited as honorary guests.
– *The Final Flight*: In the closing scene, Happy Hagfish and Nick, now Mr. and Mrs. Claus, take off on Santa’s sleigh for their first magical Christmas Eve together, delivering presents around the world. As they fly through the night sky, Happy Hagfiish blogs from the sleigh, vowing to share the magic of Christmas with all her followers.
I love that HH immediately went to mafia because that’s where I also would have gone. However, her hesitance about the mafia family is where we differ

Omg I need to look into Lindt chocolate’s dastardly deeds
Is the title of this movie: Magical No Mafia St. Nick?
I hope I am one of the subscribers, but I’ll probably need to stop bingeing the blog in order to get my wedding invite which is COMPLETELY FAIR
